Greetings Baldwin Heights School Family!
It's that special time of year where GPS staff, parents, and students tempt fate and plunge into the icy waters of a frozen lake to benefit the Special Olympics. The Polar Plunge will again be close to home at Turk Lake and take place on Saturday, February 4th. If any of you are brave enough to join the other crazy people, it's really not too bad.....just a bit of a shock to the system. AND...it's for a great cause. The Special Olympics do some pretty amazing things for some of our very own students right here in Greenville. It's a VERY worthwhile organization and this event is one of their biggest fundraisers.

If you'd rather support the FROZEN JACKETS by donating some much needed funds, please do so by any of the following methods:

2. Cash. If your school should do a jean day collection.....please send all funds to Baldwin Heights and I will make sure the team gets them before the deadline. :)

GPS would like to take a moment to thank Board Secretary Mr. Ron Billmeier (19+ years) and Board Trustee Dr. Rocky Hansen (12+ years) for serving on the GPS Board of Education. They will be missed tremendously, but we wish them the best of luck on their next endeavors. We would also like to thank our 2022 Board of Education Student Representative Hudson Parker for his commitment to serve the student body monthly at the Board of Education meetings . We wish him the best of luck as he finishes out his senior year at GHS and takes on his next adventures. Their terms officially end December 31, 2022. Photos were taken during their last regular meeting on December 12th.

Baldwin Heights is a proud collection site for Toys for Tots! Please drop off unwrapped gifts to the office by Dec 7th.
Our box will be picked up Dec 8th. Distribution is Dec 10th, over 700 kids are already signed up!

Don't forget about the Hometown PARADE downtown THIS FRIDAY! Meet behind Mancino's (in the staging area) by 6:30pm. The parade starts at 7pm and is super short, but a lot of fun!! We'll walk on Lafayette between Cass and Grove. Look for Mr. Walsh in the Christmas Tree costume. :)

Dear Baldwin Heights School Family,
Each year the city of Greenville hosts a Hometown Holiday Parade in the downtown area. The hometown parade is an incredible event that brings me back to my youth attending parades like this with my family and I want to bring that to all of you this year on December 2nd. Baldwin Heights will again have a group of people walking to represent the school. We'll gather by 6:30pm near the First Congregational Church (in the area behind Mancino's is where we usually end up)...just look for me in my Christmas Tree costume. :) We would love kids to get dressed up either as Christmas gifts (to gather around the tree) or in ANY festive holiday attire...even lights!
The parade will start at 7pm and it goes super fast! It's a short event....but very nostalgic for those of us who remember those parades as kids. We walk up M-91 and once we hit State Street...we're done! We'll take the group back to where we originally gathered and you have the rest of your evening to spend as a family. :)

SAVE THE DATE! Our Baldwin Heights Holiday Concert is Dec 19 @ 6:30pm (Kindergarten) & 7:30pm (1st & 2nd Grade) in the performing arts center at GHS. Ticket(s) are required & admission is FREE.
