BH SCHOOL FAMILY: We are in need of an electric generator for our parade float. We would just need to borrow it on October 4 for a short amount of time. If anyone has one they would let us borrow at the school, please call the school (616-754-3643) OR email Mike Walsh (mike.walsh@gpsjackets.org). We can't do a gas generator as it would make too much noise. Thank you to anyone who can help! :)

Greenville Public Schools recently named Venus Cox as a recipient of the 2024 Elmer Russell School Bell Award! Venus, who started in 2016 as the GPS Director of Children's Corner & Licensing, was praised in her nomination for always being ready to help with district projects and continuously improving the childcare program for families. "Everyone needs a Venus" is a common sentiment because she's the person you can always count on. Whether offering support, encouragement, or celebration, Venus is dedicated to the well-being of every student, family, and colleague. Venus is deeply connected to our school culture, and we are incredibly fortunate to have her on the GPS team. Congratulations, Venus, on this well-deserved honor!

Reminder
Greetings Baldwin Heights School Family! Welcome back to all returning families and a big welcome to all new families beginning the 2024-2025 school year! We welcome your talents, your ideas, and your contributions to the school and to PTO activities. For the Parent Teacher Organization to be effective and truly representative of the school, everyone’s participation is essential. Many parents feel that they cannot participate in the PTO because they cannot attend meetings or be at school during the day, but we want everyone to feel that they are part of the Baldwin Heights Community! Whether you have 30 minutes or a couple of hours, your ideas, your time, and your talents are truly needed. We can match your time constraints and interests to needed tasks. There are endless possibilities in ways you can help! This year the PTO has many activities planned! We have a Fall Carnival, the Holiday Parade, the annual Talent Show, and coming in 2025 is a COLOR RUN! Last year the PTO was able to provide two $500 scholarships to former Baldwin students graduating from Greenville High School, field trips, purchase of many items for classrooms, art supplies, and so much more! This year, we want to be able to fund so many more things! We want to provide the best possible learning environment for our students. We also want to make Baldwin Heights a welcoming and inviting place for parents, teachers and staff. Please consider coming to a PTO meeting this year! We have a great group of people helping out this year, and we are looking for many more volunteers. The more parents and guardians that we are able to get to meetings, the better ideas we will have and the more talent we will be able to bring to our school and students. Also, Baldwin Heights is on Facebook! https://www.facebook.com/baldwinheightspto -- Best Regards, Baldwin Heights Elementary PTO Board baldwinheightspto@gmail.com facebook.com/baldwinheightspto President - Allison Hoock VP - Oosa Sinrapanurak Treasurer - Jeni Brown Secretary - Danielle Guerreno Trustees - Yidzza Martir-Pou & Kelsey DeDonado
